In 2008, I took a more tongue-in-cheek approach to my Death List. Instead of listing people who I thought would die that year, I listed those people who I hoped would die that year. I did manage to get one hit when Charlton Heston died, though it was my hope he would die of a gunshot injury.
January 8, 2011 – In light of the events in Tucson, Arizona this morning (the rampage that left Rep. Gabrielle Giffords critically injured, and killed six people including a 9-year-old girl), I am feeling intensely remorseful for taking this attitude, especially those I wished violent deaths upon.
My Score for 2009: 1 out of 5.
Billy Mays doesn’t count as a hit, because he died the following year and wasn’t on that year’s list.
