Harold Camping just doesn’t know when to quit. The judgment day he’s been predicting for over a year now – just this last Saturday – came and went, and none of his predictions came to pass. Zero. Zilch. Nada. This was, of course, exactly what I was expecting, and of course I had my You Tube video ready for upload the next morning.

In just the two days since I posted it, it has gotten close to 300 views. A few comments were posted, but because they tended to be either mindless babble from deluded Christians and ad hominem attacks on me, I deleted them all and disabled commenting.

To paraphrase Ricky Ricardo, Harold Camping has got some ’splaining to do.
The Judgment Day has come. And it has gone. And we’re all still here. There was no global earthquake – at least not that could be felt here in Minneapolis. Everyone is present and accounted for, including the tiresome Christians we were promised would disappear yesterday. And all over the world, a lot of people are feeling very, very stupid.
And they should. Some of them have quit their jobs, given away all their worldly possessions, and poured their life savings into the biggest hoax of the 21st Century, topping even Balloon Boy.

Okay, all of this “end of the world” nonsense has officially stopped being a joke. I came across this news report aired by KTLA television in Los Angeles a couple of months ago.
A woman slit her daughters’ throats before slitting her own early Friday evening, claiming that "the Tribulation" was going to occur and she wanted to prevent them from suffering through it, officials said.
Lyn Benedetto, 47, reportedly told her daughters to lie on a bed and proceeded to take a knife to their throats.
The suspect then took the knife to her own throat before driving the victims to an unoccupied friend’s house to die.
