So now we’ve arrived at 2010, the year Jupiter will explode and turn into a second sun, at least according to Arthur C. Clarke, who died last year so we don’t get to say “nyah, nyah” to him if/when it doesn’t happen. We had that chance when we didn’t send a manned expedition there in 2001. Then again, the last time we lived in a year fictionalized by Clarke, September 11 happened. Let’s hope history doesn’t repeat again.
