Did you get an e-mail from my domain trying to sell you something, or asking you for personal information? I’m sure somebody has, as I have been receiving delivery failures from people I never sent e-mails to originating from addresses @themindofmatt.com that do not exist. Mind you, I am not an übergeek who knows a lot about these kinds of things, so I’ve been stumbling through my hosting provider’s configuration trying to block this from happening. There is only one valid e-mail address under this domain, which is matt @ thisdomain. I do not use admin@, postmaster@ or any other such identifier.

MINNEAPOLIS – The GALA Festival is over and all the choristers (estimated attendance was 6,000) have gone home feeling a warm and happy glow. Five days of singing and partying have left me feeling tired, but it’s a good tired. It’s also nice to be back to an elevation where I can breathe normally. While Denver is a mile-high city, Minneapolis is doing just fine here at 830 feet above mean sea level.
Back to the real world. Damn.
I can’t imagine a better venue for this year’s festival. The Denver Performing Arts Complex is an architectural wonder, three grand concert halls and three theatres all pulled together with a covered breezeway in between, which meant it was always …

DENVER – It’s been a little bit of a sad week for me since last Thursday following the death of one of my dearest friends, Brody. Yeah, he was just a cat but I tend to get very attached to my pets. I’m a little nervous about the news from home, too. My mother will be having surgery today for a major blockage in her carotid artery. Really keeping my fingers crossed there.
