About the Mind of Matt

The Mind of Matt is my own personal corner of cyberspace, where I say anything I have to say to the world. It contains my weblog, biographical information about my life, family, friends, etc., things I have created and a comprehensive guide to my opinion on any topic people tend to have an opinion of these days.

The Mind of Matt ’Blog

You don’t have to look around to find this: it’s where you land when you first arrive here. The front page always shows my more recent post. You can use the Next and Previous links at the bottom of the page, or any of the options in the left sidebar, to navigate your way through my ’blog.

Comments are usually made only by me, when I want to add something to a past posting. Otherwise, I don’t allow comments on this site. It’s not that I’m not interested in what others have to say, it’s just that I’m sick of deleting spam comments posted by bots trying to sell pornography or Viagra that are constantly being attached to those older posts which were imported from Blogger when I switched to WordPress. If you have something to say in response to something I’ve posted, I’m happy to hear from you. Click on my name, either in the byline or the footer, so send me an e-mail.

About Matt

This is the biography section, where you can learn all about me, my friends, my family and my life. At least, those parts I want the world to know about.

Cerebral Flatulence

This is a polite euphemism for “brain fart.” This section contains some of my creative endeavors, such as stories and songs I’ve written, favorite recipes, etc.

Pieces of My Mind

This is the opinion section, where you can find out what I have to say on a variety of issues which may or may not be discussed in polite company.

Technical Stuff

This website is powered by the WordPress weblog platform, created by Matt Mullenweg, and utilizes a theme called “Atahualpa” (please don’t ask me to pronounce that) that gives me a lot of design latitude.

I designed this site using Windows Vista, and it uses some fonts that come with Vista but not earlier versions of Windows. If you want to see this site the way I intend for it to look, you can download and install those fonts here. (Open the ZIP file and copy its contents to the “Fonts” folder inside your Windows folder.) If you’re still using Vista, I strongly recommend upgrading to Windows 7. It’s a vast improvement.
